Revenue Department sabotaged biggest land fraud

Lahore: Revenue Department has sabotaged biggest fraud in the history of Lahore by taking steps against forgers and land mafia. Land of 1522 kanals and 10 marlas of ten billion rupees obtained through fake documents from Mauza Rai of Tehsil Raiwind has been retrieved from fakers whereas about 1560 kanal land of Mauza Raja Jang, inside and outside Mustafabad and Kotli Rai Abu Bakar of Tehsil Kasur has also been retrieved.

This was disclosed by Senior Member Board of Revenue, Nadeem Ashraf while addressing a departmental meeting today. Members Revenue Board were also present on the occasion.

Nadeem Ashraf told that the forgers and land mafia got prepared fake documents and showing purchase of this land from various people from 1947 on various dates and “Fards” got transferred to their names in 2000. He told that the criminal cases of all such persons have been handed over to NAB. He told that 314 kanal and three marla land from Mauza Raja Jang, 123 kanal and one marla from inside Mustafabad, 151 kanal from outside Mustafabad and 971 kanal and 15 marlas from Kotli Rai Abu Bakar of Tehsil Kasur has been retrieved from land mafia. He said that the total land retrieved from Lahore and Kasur is 3082 kanal and nine marla and its value is in billions of rupees.

Nadeem Ashraf said that on the direction of Chief Minister Punjab, survey of the land is continuing in the province for curbing land mafia. He said that forgers and land mafia will be eliminated from the province. He said that such laws are being formulated that no forger and land mafia will dare to grab government land.
