MUSHAHID HUSSAIN FOR COORDINATED EFFORTS TO MAKE APA A SUCCESS

Lahore:  “Around 200 delegates are expected to attend the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) including speakers, Deputy Speakers and representatives of member Parliaments from Asian countries”. This was expressed by Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, while presiding over a meeting of the organizing Committee of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly.

Senator Mushahid Hussain, who is Chairman of the organizing committee of APA, was given a detailed briefing on the overall arrangements and confirmations received so far. He expressed his satisfaction over the preparations.

On the occasion he announced that an exclusive high level meeting has been convened by Chairman Senate Syed Nayyer Hussain Bokhari on Wednesday, 4^th December, 2013 at Parliament House.

Senior government authorities will give a detailed overview of the necessary actions taken by different departments. Senator Mushahid will also address a press conference on 5^th December, 2013 at Parliament House at 11:30 am (followed by lunch). He said that media has important role in promoting and projecting the positive and soft image of the country. He hoped that the media would work as a partner of the Senate of Pakistan in making this conference a big success.

He said that Pakistan’s hosting of such an important international conference was a great honour for the country, a plus for Pakistan’s image and vote of confidence in Pakistan’s vibrant democracy.

It is pertinent to mention here that the 6^th Plenary session of Asian Parliamentary Assembly from 8-10 December, 2013.
