Rulers will not escape peoples’ accountability

Ch.Zaheer-ud-dinLahore: Pakistan Muslim League (PML) Punjab General Secretary Ch Zaheeruddin Khan and Senior Vice-President Muhammad Basharat Raja have questioned if the sugar price can be increased quite frequently then why sugarcane support price cannot be raised, soaring high prices of essential articles has made the life of the people miserable, where Rs two Roti Scheme has gone adding that the era of rule of those who came into power on the basis of falsehood is over.

Addressing party’s organizing meeting in Nankana Sahib today, the PML leaders recounted the services for the welfare and well-being of the people rendered during his tenure as the Chief Minister by Ch Parvez Elahi throughout the province without any discrimination and said Ch Parvez Elahi had given Nankana Sahib district status and got roads of international standards constructed and set the wheels of agriculture in motion.

They said those trying to draw political mileage from Nandipur Power Project do not see incomplete Cardiology Hospital of Wazirabad and 45 degree colleges which were closed only due to opposition of Ch Parvez Elahi. They said that for giving district status to Nankana Sahib and gift of Rescue 1122, Ch Parvez Elahi will always live in the hearts of the people of the district.

Muhammad Basharat Raja said that Ch Parvez Elahi during his tenure launched number of peoples welfare projects quite successfully after proper planning and these are still continuing even now whereas the projects introduced by the present rulers could not even continue more than one or two years such as Sasti Roti Scheme, Green Tractor Scheme, Aashiana Housing Scheme and Daanish Schools. He said that deserting the party amounts to leaving the mother. He said present rulers do not shake hand with their workers whereas doors of the Chaudhry Brothers always remain open for the workers, irrespective of whether they in or out of power.

Ch Zaheeruddin Khan said that the workers who stood steadfast in difficult times with Ch Parvez Elahi and kept the flag of Muslim League high deserve to be saluted. He said for solution of problems, sincere and honest leadership is needed who is loyal and committed to the soil of Pakistan adding that this leadership is of Ch Shujat Hussain and Ch Parvez Elahi.

The meeting was also addressed by Peer Ahmad Hassan, Rai Mushtaq and former MNA Shahid Manzur Gill who pledged to continue political struggle under the leadership of Ch Shujat Hussain and Ch Parvez Elahi and make the party strong, effective, active and organized. Additional General Secretary Nasir Mahmud Gill and Information Secretary Punjab Seemal Kamran were among those who were also present. On arrival, the PML leaders were warmly welcomed by large number of party leaders and workers who chanted slogans in support of Ch Shujat Hussain and Ch Parvez Elahi.
