Media men to discharge their duties honestly :Munawar Hasan

Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan, has stressed upon the media men to discharge their duties honestly by playing a positive role in removing the weaknesses and evils in the society and promoting the good and virtues.

In his message on the occasion of the YYoum e Shohada e Sahafat, observed on Tuesday, he said that the Press was not only the fourth pillar of the state, it also gave strength to the other three pillars, thus helping in raising the state on sound foundations.

He said that journalism had been the task of the Prophets. Almighty Allah had revealed four divine books besides several scripts for the guidance of mankind.

Syed Munawar Hasan said unfortunately, the tyrants and dictatorial rulers had always tried to curtail the freedom of the press and hundreds of newsmen were even subjected to severe torture and put them to death . However, he said, the people associated with the media foiled the evil designs of the tyrants by remaining firm and steadfast in the discharge of their duties.

The JI Ameer paid tributes to the media men who had lost their lives in the discharge of their duties and said their sacrifices wont go waste, and the nation would always pay homage to them.
