Government machinery is fully active to control dengue

Lahore: Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab on Health, Kh. Salman Rafiq has said that government machinery is fully active to control dengue and public representatives, government officials, lady health workers and sanitary patrols are visiting door to door for dengue surveillance and awareness. He urged upon the citizens to play their due role for overcoming dengue. He expressed the hope that we will soon control this menace.

He expressed these views during his visit to dengue affected area, Dhok Hasso Rawal Town in Rawalpindi today. In-charge Chief Minister Dengue Research Cell, Prof. Dr. Waseem Akram, officers of Health Department, senior officers of district government accompanied him. Kh. Salman Rafiq said that the citizens should pay special attention to clear hot spots of growth of dengue in their houses. He said that Punjab Chief Minister is regularly monitoring anti-dengue measures and reviewing the situation daily in the meeting.

Later, Kh. Salman Rafiq presided over a meeting of Technical Advisory Committee at EDO Health office. He also visited Holy Family Hospital along with Commissioner Rawalpindi Khalid Masood and inquired about the health of dengue patients. Kh. Salman Rafiq said that the government is providing free of cost medical treatment to dengue patients and no leniency would be tolerated in this regard. Principal Rawalpindi Medical College Prof. Muhammad Umar and M.S. Dr. Sabir were also present on the occasion.

Kh. Salman Rafiq also visited NCA Rawalpindi for regarding dengue awareness and educated the students about anti-dengue measures. He also met CDA authorities regarding anti-dengue along with Commissioner Rawalpindi Khalid Masood, Dr. Waseem Akram and officers of Health Department.
