Lahore: Provincial Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah Khan has condemned the incident of firing by unknown persons on Imambargahs in Gujranwala as a result of which three persons were martyred. He said that after the incident, security has been put on red alert throughout the province. He said that instead of categorized security, round-the-clock security will be provided to all majalis and processions.
Rana Sanaullah said that IG Punjab has been directed to arrest the persons involved in Gujranwala incident. He told that all members national and provincial assemblies and members of Peace Committees have been directed to play their due role for the maintenance of peace at district, divisional and provincial level. He said that there are threat alert during Muharram, however, Punjab government has made best security arrangements within available resources.
Rana Sanaullah said that neither the statements of new head of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan can be confirmed nor contradicted. He said that instead of Tehrik-e-Taliban, sectarian organizations can be involved in Gujranwala incident. He said that Faisalabad, Jhang, Bhakkar, Rawalpindi and Lahore are at the top of security threat. Replying to a question with regard to ban on speeches of some ulema, Law Minister said that administration has been given powers not to ban the speeches of those ulema against whom there is no case or they give surety bond. He said that the security of big processions will be checked at four places. He said that in the past Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has never appealed directly to Taliban but the political opponents used his speech out of context against us.
Rana Sanaullah said that Pakistan is facing the big problem of terrorism. He lamented the statements of Ameer Jamat-e-Islami Munawar Hassan about martyrdom and Imran Khan about the opening of office of Taliban in Pakistan. He said that despite incidents of terrorism, government will not close the door for dialogues with Taliban as this is the decision of All Parties Conference.
