Lahore: Provincial Health Minister Khalil Tahir Sindhu visited Mayo Hospital tonight and inquired after the dengue patients. He also inquired from the attendants of the dengue patients about the treatment facilities. The patients expressed their satisfaction and told the Minister that all medicines are being provided to them by hospital administration free of cost.
Talking to the attendants of the patients and media-men, Health Minister said that as per direction of the Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, free treatment facilities are being provided in all government hospitals to the dengue patients. He said that Chief Minister Punjab is worried about the health of dengue patients and personally supervising the situation.
Focal person of Mayo Hospital for dengue Dr. Tahir told that 255 confirmed dengue patients have been treated in Mayo Hospital during the season who have been discharged after recovery. He told that at present six confirmed, five suspected while one likely dengue patients are under treatment in the hospital and their condition is satisfactory.
Health Minister appealed to local doctors and the people through media that if dengue symptoms were found in the patient, he should immediately be shifted to government hospital. He advised the people to avoid self-medication of dengue patient as it can cause threat to the life of the patient. He further asked the people to keep their houses clean, do not let accumulate water and use anti-mosquito lotion on their bodies to protect themselves from mosquito.
