TMOs to ensure licencing of all junkyards: Col. Retd Shuja Khanzada

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Environment Col. Retd Shuja Khanzada has directed all TMOs of district Lahore to ensure licencing of all junkyards and tyre shops within two days besides ensuring implementation on precautionary measures as per licence. He also directed to form special squads after two days which would conduct emergent visits to all towns. He said that in case of non-compliance, these squads will submit their reports to the authorities after which recommendations be forwarded for strict action against the concerned town officers.

Members Provincial Assembly, Kh. Imran Nazir and Ch. Shahbaz Ahmad directed all TMOs to take personal interest and leave no stone unturned to eliminate dengue. Moreover, Secretary Environment Protection Department Muhammad Anwar Rasheed directed all TMAs to immediately correct their record regarding junkyards and tyre shops. He said that Provincial Ministers, assembly members and Secretary Environment are reviewing the situation by conducting visits and public awareness programmes are being held at town level.
