Lahore High Court on Wednesday took notice on a press report that a husband attacked his wife with acid. District & Sessions Judge, Faisalabad has been directed for looking into the matter and submit a detailed report regarding steps taken by the local police along with his own comments.
According to details, Asad Ali, a resident of Woddan village, had stopped his wife from visiting relatives. When she refused to listen to him Asad beat her up. In the evening they fought again when she demanded money to purchase some house hold items. When she was returning from the market, Asad threw acid. The victim was taken to District Headquarters Hospital Jhang where her condition was reported to be critical. Dr. Mubashar Hussain at the hospital’s emergency ward said that the victim’s face had burned the most and doctors were trying their best to save her eyesight.
Ashraf Ali, a neighbour, told police that the couple had quarrelled every other day. Shah Jewna police registered a case and waiting for the medico-legal report. SHO said that the police were looking for the culprit who has gone into hiding.
LHC Complaint Cell took serious notice of the news and directed the concerned D&SJ to look into the matter and submit report in a week.
