Lahore: Provincial Minister for Local Government and Law, Rana Sanaullah Khan has said that government is seriously considering to impose ban on pillion riding and the services of the of cellular companies during Muharram in order to maintain peace and law & order. He said that military and rangers would also be deployed in various districts of the Punjab.
Rana Sana said the case of Shakeel Afridi is subjudice and thus the question of handing him over to America does not arise. He said if America displays softness on the matter of Aafia Sidiqui or an agreement of exchange of criminals is made between Pakistan and America then Pakistan can reciprocate.
He expressed these views in a statement here today. Rana Sanaullah Khan said that whenever Pakistan talked to America in connection with release of Aafia Siddiqui, America responded negatively by simply stating that the case is subjudice and American government is helpless in this regard. He said that similar is the case with Shakeel Afridi, therefore, he cannot be handed over to America as his case is subjudiced.
Rana Sanaullah Khan said our point of view is that the drone attacks are increasing terrorism besides sabotaging the peace dialogue with Taliban and an attack on our sovereignty. He said it is a fact that pressure by Pakistan and world nations on America is increasing against drone attacks as innocent people are being killed in these attacks.
Rana Sanaullah Khan said that if Indian government has concerns against the activities of Hafiz Saeed then it should provide proof of it to Pakistan. He said that Pakistani government has no solid information or proof against Hafiz Saeed and it is mere propaganda of India. He said that Pakistani government will not succumb to any pressure with regard to peace dialogue with Taliban.
Rana Sanaullah said that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif’s visit to America will result in ending coldness in Pak-USA ties and relations between the two counties will improve speedily. He said that the result of local bodies elections in Faisalabad will be similar to May 11 general elections and hoped that PML-N will be victorious in these elections as well.
