Motorway Police have no place for ineligible officers: IG Zulfiqar Cheema

IG Zulfiqar Ahmad CheemaLahore: National Highways & Motorway Police carries excellent values and there is no place for the officers and officials who will not show performance up to the mark. If anyone found guilty would be taken to task said Inspector General National Highways & Motorway Police Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema while addressing a meeting with officers at Camp Office, Lahore. DIG Mirza Shakil Ahmad, SSP Mirza Faran Baig, SSP Ghulam Jaffer and Acting Sector Commander Abdul Khalil were also present on the occasion.

The Inspector General Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema ordered to ensure even-handedness of the law irrespective of one’s status. He said lane discipline on national highways be ensured by keeping the heavy and slow moving vehicles like trucks , buses,  and rickshaws  in discipline. He further said patrolling standards on highways & Motorways would be improved as per international standards. He said that no transporter would be allowed to overcharge from passengers and if anyone is overcharged, motorway police would make it possible to return the overcharge money to passenger from driver.  He said that these vehicles would also be fined and along with impounding the vehicle.

The IG Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema has directed the operational officer prepare a standard operating procedure of the bus stands in the areas of national highways to solve the problem being faced by the passengers. He said wrongdoers should be identified so that stern action could be taken against them.  NH&MP will achieve his targets within rapidly and it will become role model for other department.
