LDA dismissed 50 corrupt officers and officials

Lahore: Necessary amendment has been introduced in the Lahore Development Authority Act 1975 and a Commission will soon be constituted on issues of bona fide purchasers, illegal schemes and illegal constructions for considering and deciding matters and disputes pertaining to bona fide purchase for value owing to irregular or fraudulent transaction in respect of property, establishment of scheme in an illegal manner or illegally constructed structures.

The commission will sort out issues of the people who have bought plots on fake files.

Lahore Development Authority has dismissed, terminated or compulsory retired as many as 50 officers and officials after charges of corruption, forgery and their involvement in illegal transfers and allocations of plots were approved during the past 18 –months.

 

Lahore Development Authority has tightened the noose around land mafia and entry of outsider elements and unconcerned persons has been restricted in the offices of LDA besides imposing a ban on the access of a number of persons.

 

Lahore Development Authority has also eliminated urgent transfer of plots in some schemes which was a major source of fraud.

 

Mutation of land acquired for LDA Schemes was underway in collaboration with the Revenue staff of City District Government Lahore.

 

Scanning of record was also being carried out to eliminate fake documents and lost files. A central record room and a Directorate of Record Management had been constituted for safeguarding the record of the properties of the people.

 

Lahore Development Authority has sealed record of Mustafa Town Housing Scheme on 22 May 2012 after taking notice of public complaints. Scrutiny of the record was under way and so far 900 Robkars have been issued to the Additional Collector Consolidation for verification.
