Lahore: The 3-day second international energy, gas, oil and power exhibition and conference (EGO-PEC) concluded at Expo Centre Lahore today.
Provincial Minister for Education, Tourism, Sports, Youth Affairs and Archeology Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan gave away shields to the exhibitors.
During his visit to various stalls, Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan while talking to the delegates of China, America, Italy, Britain, Japan, Iran and other countries said that 300-400 MW electricity has been added in the national grid during the last year, the credit of which goes to Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif who has made round the clock efforts for overcoming energy crisis in Punjab. He said that a clear reduction has been witnessed in the severity of load-shedding throughout the country and expressed the hope that load-shedding will be ended in the country during next three years.
Rana Mashhood Ahmed asked foreign investors to invest in projects for generating energy through various traditional and untraditional sources. He said that vast opportunities of investment are available in Pakistan particularly in energy sector and local and international firms should fully benefit from them. He appreciated the services of the organizer of energy conference and the exhibition Saleem Khan Tanoli and said that such exhibitions can play important role for the promotion of foreign investment in Pakistan.
The Minister was told that investors from China, Iran, America and Italy have motivated the investors through the exhibition of machinery to be used for generating energy through solar power, wind power, biomass and coal as well as traditional sources and other products which will help in generating energy at cheaper rates.
