Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif presided over a meeting of cabinet committee on wheat at Model Town here today which reviewed in detail wheat stocks and price of flour in the province.
The meeting also considered various proposals for giving subsidy to the poor. Provincial Ministers Rana Sanaullah Khan, Bilal Yasin, Farrukh Javed, Chief Secretary and secretaries of concerned departments were present.
Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said that provision of relief to the masses is the top priority of the government and such a formula should be devised regarding prices of wheat and flour as puts no burden on poor people.
The Chief Minister directed the Chief Secretary to present the project of construction of silos for the storage of wheat within seven days. He said that construction of silos should be ensured in the province within next two years so that stocks could be protected against floods.
