Lahore: Director General Provincial Disaster Management Authority, Capt. (Retd) Muhammad Asif has said that the process of receiving update reports regarding the losses in the flood affected areas from all DCOs of the province is continuing. According to these reports, 795857 people of 2482 villages of 25 flood affected districts and 1994487 acres of land was affected due to floods.
He said that relief goods are being provided to 8873 flood affectees in 361 relief camps in the flood-hit areas. He said that all DCOs have been directed for ensuring immediate drainage of water from the low lying areas. He said that no stone is being left unturned in provision of relief and medical facilities to the flood-hit people in the flood affected areas.
He said that doctors and paramedics staff has started vaccination in the areas to save the people from epidemics while medicines are also being distributed among the people for protection against different diseases. He said that the monsoon season is not yet over therefore the administration of all the districts should continue the process of monitoring of rivers, canals and hill torrents regularly.
