Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that selfless service to the people is the pivot of the politics of Pakistan Muslim League-N and it has promoted culture of transparency in the province and all public welfare projects are a proof of this fact. He said that PML-N government considers every penny of public funds as a sacred trust of the people and all resources are being spent only on the welfare and betterment of the masses. He said that PML-N will serve the people during next five years more vigorously than ever before and the country will be steered out of crises and put on the road to progress and prosperity. He said that new records of public service would be set during next five years under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. He said that the projects initiated in education, health and infrastructure sectors would yield far-reaching results. He said that new traditions being introduced for the stability of democracy and democratic institutions are resulting in a positive change in the political culture of the country.
He was talking to a delegation of PML-N office-bearers and workers in Raiwind today. Talking to the delegation, the Chief Minister said that projects of progress, development and welfare of the people introduced in the last tenure of Muslim League-N and by the present government are unprecedented in the 66 years’ history of the country. He said PML-N leadership firmly believes that the goal of good governance cannot be realized without ensuring welfare and betterment of the masses.
He said that government is fully aware of the problems being faced by the people due to load-shedding and has therefore taken emergent measures for a durable solution to energy problem. He said that besides adopting traditional methods of power generation, projects of production of energy from alternative sources are also being started. He said that Pakistan is rich in natural resources and the destiny of the country can be changed by adopting a proper planning for their utilization.
Shahbaz Sharif said that besides generation of hydle power, a comprehensive roadmap has also been devised for production of electricity from coal, bagasse and solar energy and the nation would be rid of load-shedding within next few years. He said that controlling energy crisis is of vital importance for stability of economy and progress of the country therefore the government is giving top priority to power generation from alternative sources.
He said that Punjab government is working on various projects of production of electricity from alternative sources and the most important one is the establishment of Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park over ten thousand acres of land in Cholistan Bahawalpur. He said that formal approval has been given to the master plan of the project while funds are immediately being released for initiating development activities.
Referring to law and order situation, Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan is passing through a critical phase and terrorism and extremism have shaken the foundations of the country. He said that the whole nation would have to gather on one platform for rooting out terrorism. He said that a national policy is being formulated with consensus to eliminate terrorism and extremism and all stakeholders are being consulted. He said that steps are also being taken for improving law and order for the promotion of investment as it is essential for poverty alleviation and generation of job opportunities.
The Chief Minister directed Muslim League workers to maintain a close contact with the people and bring their problems to the notice of elected representatives for solution. PML-N office-bearers and workers while expressing full confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that people have high expectations of PML-N. They expressed confidence that PML-N government would counter all challenges and put the country on the road to progress and prosperity and regain its lost status.
