Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that maintenance of law and order and provision of justice to the masses is the priority of the government and therefore modern reforms are being introduced in the police system while a training programme based on modern technology is being evolved for police for ensuring peace and tranquility in the society. He said that negotiations are being held with Turkey and Britain for equipping police with modern technology.
He was addressing a high level meeting here today. Provincial Home Secretary, Inspector General Police Punjab, British expert Dr. Amanat, concerned authorities and senior police officers were present on the occasion. Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said that government is determined to further improve law and order and necessary funds will be provided for this purpose. He said that police system is being reformed for providing prompt and inexpensive justice to the citizens which will also reduce crime rate. He said that central command & control system will be devised in all big cities of the province. He said that a strategy is being evolved with the help of Turkey and Britain for formulating a modern training programme for police. The Chief Minister was given a detailed briefing regarding setting up of command & control system in Lahore as well as other major cities of the province.
