Lahore: Health Minister Khalil Tahir Sindhu visited Sheikh Zayed Hospital and inquired after the under-treatment kidney patients in Dialysis Unit and also inquired their problems.
Chairman Sheikh Zayed Hospital Prof. Dr. Zafar Iqbal gave a briefing to Health Minister about the problems being faced by the hospital. Associate Professor Nephrology Dr. Waqar, Prof. Dr. Ajmal Naqvi, Administrator Dr. Akbar Hussain and other senior doctors were also present on the occasion. Prof. Zafar Iqbal informed the Health Minister about the financial problems of the hospital. He requested the Health Minister that funds may be released to the hospital immediately for providing treatment facilities to the patients of Sheikh Zayed Hospital in an efficient manner. He told that problems are being faced due to non-release of funds for Dialysis Unit so far.
Health Minister telephoned Secretary Finance and directed him to immediately resolve this problem. He assured the patients of dialysis unit that their problems would be resolved on priority basis. Health Minister also assured Chairman Sheikh Zayed Hospital that he will personally ask Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for early resolution of financial problems of the hospital.
