Officers under corruption inquiry should not be posted in the field:Minister for Forests

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Forests, Wildlife and Fisheries Malik Muhammad Asif Bha Awan has directed that such officers who are facing inquiry on the charges of corruption and other allegations should not be posted in the field unless they are proved innocent.

He stated this while presiding over a departmental meeting, here today. Secretary Forests Punjab Major(R) Shahnawaz Badar and other officers were present in the meeting. The Minister said that only honest and efficient officers should be posted on key posts. He said that any posting in violation of merit will not be tolerated.

Malik Muhammad Asif Bha Awan directed that best recreational facilities should be provided to the people in the parks which are under the administrative control of Forests Department. He stressed that special attention should be paid to breeding farms of Wildlife Department and providing a suitable environment to the animals and birds there. The Minister said that he will soon start paying surprise visits to department offices in the province to check the arrangements and review departmental affairs.
