Lahore : The Corruption in NH&MP would not be tolerated, if any officer of from top to bottom found guilty, he would be expelled from service. No underage and without license driver would be allowed to travel on motorways and at highways. This was said Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema, Inspector General NH&MP while addressing a Police Darbar at Lahore, zonal Office. DIG Dr Muhammed Shafiq & SSP Mirza Faran Baig were also present on the occasion.
IG Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema, said honest, efficient and hardworking officers would be given respect and corrupt officer would be taken to task. He said officers to perform their duty without fear and ensure the implementation of law. He directed to patrolling officers to ensure firm enforcement of law on motorways and national highways. The Inspector General also ordered to ensure equal application of law irrespective of one’s status. He said lane discipline on national highways be ensured by keeping the heavy and slow moving vehicles in discipline. He further said patrolling standards on highways & Motorways would be improved as per international standards and no underage and without license driver would be allowed to travel on motorways and at highways
IG Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema said that it is the duty of every official of NH&MP to protect and fight for its dignity and nobility. He further said providing help and guidance to the commuters, besides their counseling, was the hallmark of Motorway Police and it should be continued in all circumstances. He asked the officers of NH&MP to show patience and work hard as more vehicles will break down on road in the current hot season. He laid stress on quick and timely response to Helpline 130 Call. He said that immediate help be extended to the road users in distress and special care be given to the patients, old age persons, ladies and children. He advised them to make the NH&MP as model institution in Asia with their good behavior and courtesy.
