Another 9 people lost their lives in accidents

Lahore :Total 519 road traffic accidents were reported in Rescue 1122’s Provincial Monitoring Cell in all 36 Districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours, in which 09 lives were reported dead and 478 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant district. However, some 218 victims sustaining minor injuries were provided first on the spot.

According to the details, 212 drivers, 26 underage drivers, 99 pedestrians and 394 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic accidents. The statistics show 81 RTAs were reported in Lahore Control Room, which affected 103 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 61 RTAs in Faisalabad with 92 victims and Gujranwala remained at third position with 44 RTAs and 50 victims.

The details further show that total 705 in victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 529 males and 176 females, while age group of the victims show that 110 were under 18 year of age, 412 were between 18 and 40 year and rest of the 183 victims were reported above 40 years. According to the data, 416 motorbikes, 58 auto rickshaws, 66 motorcars, 15 vans, 9 passenger buses, 24 trucks and 60 other types of auto vehicles and slow moving carts were involved in aforesaid road traffic accidents.
