Minister objects on the auction of the trees

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Forests, Wildlife and Fisheries Malik Muhammad Asif Bha Awan has directed to reconstitute the auction committees of trees and to induct local members of Provincial Assembly in these committees.

These directions were passed in a letter written to the Secretary Forestry, Wildlife & Fisheries. The Minister said that it is come to his notice that transparent procedure is not being followed in the auction of trees. He directed the high-ranking officers of the Department to produce numeration record of trees which come under Forest Department.

 Provincial Minister said that Forest Department should arrange the forthcoming monsoon tree plantation campaign-2013 in a befitting and organized manner and seek help of universities, colleges, schools, and various departments in order to make it a success. He said that tree plantation campaign should be planned at district level so that number of trees could be increased  in order to overcome environmental pollution.

                        Malik Muhammad Asif Bha Awan further directed officers of Forests, Wildlife and Fisheries Department to seek permission from Minister’s Office before leaving on official tour and also inform about the purpose of their visit. He further said that in case of any emergent situation, the touring officer must inform the Minister office about his visit.
