Lahore : Provincial Minister for Health Khalil Tahir Sindhu on secret information raided a factory on Ring Road in Daroghawala where hospitals waste was found in a large quantity. On the inquiry, the people told the Health Minister that this waste is not of local hospitals which is imported from the factories manufacturing disposable items for the hospitals in foreign countries and it is not the used one.
On this occasion, the Health Minister called for District Health Officer Dr. Muhammad Saeed and other concerned officers at the site and ordered them to seal the factory for 48 hours and directed the factory owners to submit the documents relating to import of this material.
He directed Health officials to complete their inquiry report within 48 hours and submit it to him. He also directed to contact Environment Department in this regard. Provincial Minister said that if the said disposable items proved hospitals waste, strict legal action will be taken against the concerned persons.
