A boy drowned in Lahore canal

Lahore: A six year old child Monday drowned in Ichra canal and the drowned’s family members blocked canal road near Muslim Town for two hour expressing dissatisfaction over the rescue operation.

According to details Ferhan, six, who belong to Faisalabad, drowned in Ichra canal slipping accidently at 12 noon. Ferhan was accompanied with his family that came to Lahore to their relatives in Samanbad.

Ferhan, s father Arif said that they came to the canal due to the electricity cut at home. He said that he did not know that his beloved son will be engulfed by the canal.

He said that rescue team was helping them; however, they were not under taking a full-fledged operation by blocking the water.

The drowned Ferhan’s family blocked the canal Road for two hour in the absence of traffic police on the occasion.

Till the filling of the report, however, the rescue team, but failed to make any breakthrough.

Assistant Commissioner Shakeel Bahati on the occasion said that they were trying their full to satisfy the family. However, he said that they have asked their rescue 1122 to block the water with the help of a net if the net is made available to them.
