Four traffic wardens severely injured a youth

Lahore: Four traffic wardens on Friday severely injured a youth who tried to cross road from Muslim Town to reach Shah Jamal.

Wardens including Shrafat Ali and his three accomplices tortured M Mawaz who was coming back from Children Hospital after getting his six month old daughter examined.

Nawaz said that the wardens tortured him brutally for nothing and insulted him before the eyes of his wife. He said that he had shown his ID to the warden and even then the warden passed derogatory remarks against him slapping at his face.

“The wardens have beaten me as I wanted to cross the Road from Muslim Town to reach Shah Jamal Colony as there is no cut to cross the road,” he said.

“I showed the warden, Shrafat my ID card and documents of my bike even then he insulted me before my wife. When I forbade him mot to exceed his limits he slapped at my face and called other three wardens and mercilessly torched me,” Nawaz said.

Nawaz said that he went to the Muslim Town Police Station for an FIR but the police refused to entertain his application against the wardens.

He demanded of the Punjab government to take stock of the incident and brig the culprits to the books.

An eyewitness seeking anonymity said that following the Metro Bus has been made functional the wardens have made it a routine matter to get physical with the commuters.

He said that on daily basis the wardens scuffle with the motor bikers and they dam care of the families with the motorist.

He said the wardens do not even respect the dignity of the women and keep them answerable before them hours long.
