Shadman police start taking fruits as bribe

Lahore: Shadman police has started exploiting by taking bribery in form of fruits, vegetables, and food three times a day from vendors, shopkeepers and hotel owners.

Policemen daily come to us and take with them expensive foods including Mutton, Beef, chicken and biryani,” a hotel owner, Amir Khan said.

He said that if they refused the policemen food they threatened them to take action against them.

Another hotel owner Usman said that he during the last week had refused the policemen chicken roast resulting four policemen took him to the police station where they insulted him and treated him roughly.

He said, “We have no option of going against them but to feed them with the food of their choice.

Fruit owners who run their movable fruit shopkeeper were equally disturbed from the Shadman Police Station as police officials threaten them to lock them up if they do not give them costly fruits including watermelons, banana, apple, orange and other seasonal expensive fruits.

The fruits vendors said that ASI Nasir Gill come with his Toyota and collect fruits from the vendors and those who refused him, has to face his wrath. He takes them to the police station and locks them up illegally.

However, Nasir Gill denied the allegations.
