Spokesman of Health Department Punjab has claimed that the measles virus has started decreasing. He said that 1279 cases were reported during last week whereas 1119 cases were reported during the week ended on June 2. The spokesman said that measles vaccine is available in all government hospitals, however, measles affected children were not administered vaccine. He said that the measles vaccine was not expired anywhere.

The spokesman said that anti-measles campaign would be launched in measles affected 12 sensitive districts from June 24 to July 5. He said that one crore 20 lakh children from the age of six months to ten years will be administered measles vaccine during this campaign. He said that Health Department Punjab has made payment of Rs. 45.83 crore for importing vaccine through UNICEF.
