Government to withdraw Fuel Adjustment Charges immediately: Dr Farid Paracha

Lahore: : Deputy Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Dr Farid Ahmed Piracha, has demanded immediate withdrawal of the so called Fuel Adjustment Charges on electricity bills, terming it as unlawful.

In a statement here on Tuesday, he said that the IPP s had utilized only 40 pr cent of the capacity of thermal power stations whereas the consumers were being charged for 100 per cent utilization. .

Besides, he said, the electricity producers had not purchased any furnace oil but the consumers were being forced to pay for that.

Dr Farid Piracha said that in fact,  a mafia had got control over the country’s economy with the sole aim to burden the common man with undue levies.

The JI leader also denounced the load shedding up to twenty hours a day in most of the rural areas and said this was making life difficult for the people there.
