Lahore: Hundreds including traders held a second day of protest demonstration against blockade of crossing from Muslim Town to Shama Cinima and high handedness of wardens who have been insulting commuters since the Metro Bus has become operational.
The area businessmen and residents said that despite the fact that the no one has taken action against the inappropriate attitude of the wardens and the DSP behind it. They said that instead the wardens have turned hostile to the residents in response to their protests.
“Our business has been destroyed completely as we don’t have any crossing. Wardens are adding injury to the insult when someone cross the road coming from Wahdat Road and Model Town to reach Jamia Ashrafia, Amanullah, a businessman of wood at the wood market beside Jamia Ashrafia.
It seem that the wardens are assigned targets for maximum challans at the newly made trap point near Fazlia Colony and Rehmanpura as the wardens cahllan to a certain time and when their quota for the day is complete they peacefully sit down on the back seat of their bikes and enjoy.
“Though it is routine matter for the wardens to beat the bikers and car drivers, it was a bad happening day when four wardens had injured an innocent youth under 17. He was along with her sister. Salman went to the concerned police station but he was not entertained by the Ichra Police,” another trader of carpet said.
A resident of Shah Jamal said, “The Government of Shabaz sharif has done a great wrong to us as we have been left with no crossing, and no Metro Bus stop.
“The Shahbaz government wanted to demolish Fazlia Colony at once during his rule but he could not do so. TheMuslim Town over bridge passes through our area but we cannot use it as it is not for us. The bridge gets up fromMuslim Town and falls down at Ichra. We have no crossing cut between Muslim Town and Shama, he added.”
The resident of Shah Jamal and Fazlia Colony said that if they use the from behind the Jamia Asrafi to reach our destination it become dangerous for us to reach our homes as the area near canal is very dangerous. No day goes without an untoward incident including murder, robbery and snatching.
