Alliance with PPP damaged us:PML-Q

Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) has demanded setting up of a national commission in view of reservations of all parties regarding the May 11 election for probing the complaints and their removal, which should complete its task within 30 days. This unanimous demand was at a high level party meeting presided by PML President Senator Ch Shujat Hussain at his residence here today. The meeting was attended by leaders, ticket holders and elected parliamentarians of the four provinces, Gilgit and Baltistan and addressed by Ch Parvez Elahi, Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, Senator Kamil Ali Agha, S. M. Zafar, Dr Khalid Ranjha and other leaders.

PML-Q’s ticket holders, parliamentarians and leaders have unanimously agreed on that alliance with PPP damaged the party alot,defeat in elections was a lessons for us,We should play a positive and constructive role as a opposition through out the country.

In a high level meeting presided by Ch Shujaat Hussain,it was decided that PML-Q should apart its ways from PPP to avoid further political loss. All participants expressed the view with one voice that as a result of alliance with the Peoples Party, the party has not only suffered heavily in the general elections but also internally. They insisted that in these circumstances, independent decisions should be taken in all matters.

The participants of the meeting agreed on that neither elections were fair nor free,mandate of the PML-Q was theft like others parties mandate was stolen.They demanded formation of national commission to probe the ways of rigging,irregularities and lawlessness and recommended where ever recounting, re-polling and finger prints verification needed that should be done to satisfy the voters.

The meeting decided that the party will be reorganized in every province and sincere and active leaders and workers will be assigned key role and important responsibilities. According to the decision of the meeting, every party has expressed its reservations over the general elections that these were not free and fair. , in view of this it is the requirement of the time that the proper way out is to set up the national commission for allaying rigging and irregularities in the polling and counting and other serious complaints and the commission should order recounting, re-polling and verification of fingerprints by NADRA wherever necessary.

The meeting expressed heartfelt sorry and grief over the killing of such a large number of children in the school van incident in Gujrat and conveyed sympathies to their bereaved families. Felicitating the successful candidates and dull participation of the leaders in the meeting, Senator Ch Shujat Hussain said that our spirits are high, we will continue serving Pakistan and its people, we have evidence about rigging in different constituencies, we will take this evidence to the Election and in this regard asked the party leaders to remain in contact with the effected ones.

Heartily congratulating successful candidates, Ch Parvez Elahi said in his address that that we are not disappointed by the circumstances, difficult times keep coming on political parties, we are not going to be afraid of difficulties, Pakistan Muslim League will continue to play its effective and full role on every level, Insha-Allah. He said that parliamentarians like Anwar Ali Cheema and Ghias Mela have never lost but even their victory has been snatched from us. Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed said that we have courage to speak and hear truth, today’s enthusiastic gathering is an ample proof that PML role in national politics has not diminished in any manner and we will play full role, we will fix our mistakes and learn lesson from these mistakes. Senator Saeed Mendokhel, Intikhab Khan Chamakni, Haleem Adil Shaikh, Tariq Bashir Cheema, Mir Hamdan Bugti, Ch Zaheeruddin Khan, Ghias Mela, Sardar Khan Kakar, Dr. Azeemuddin Lakhvi, Maluna Shabbir, Khalid Nabi and other leaders while addressing the meeting said that PML and ANP were also punished along with the Peoples Party for load shedding m speeches of Mian Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif were also part of election rigging, and results were changed after 11 in the night to snatch away our won seats also.Ch Shujaat Hussain said we have proofs of rigging in many constituencies and we would take up this issue at every platform.
Ch Pervaiz Elahi said 11th May election was the repeat of 1977 elections,extreme rigging was done under the ECP umbrella. Their won seats were snatched after Nawaz Sharif speech by changing the results.

They said that that in the effected constituencies, recounting and thumb verification should be done, elderly caretaker Prime Minister and elderly Chief Election Commission should do both these things for saving their honour.

They said that the rigging on May 11 elections have revived the memory of 1977 rigging, PML-Q mandate was also stolen in 2013 like 2008, we will not lose hearts, we will make party active and effective and continue to expose those making false promises to the people and securing fake mandate.
