Shahbaz Sharif welcomes NPP merger in PML-N

m n s (1)Lahore: National People’s Party (NPP) chief Ghulam Murtaza Jatoi said Friday his party has decided to merge with PML-N.

“Prudent policies of Nawaz Sharif have encouraged us to merge NPP into PML-N,” Jatoi said after a meeting with former Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Sharif. Newly elected provincial and National Assembly members of NPP were also present on the occasion.

Speaking to the media, Shahbaz said that NNP’s merger with PML-N was a welcome move which would have a positive impact on the country’s politics.

About poll-rigging allegations, the former CM said, “How can rigging take place when the caretaker government had reshuffled the entire bureaucracy in Punjab?” Shahbaz also criticised the caretaker prime minister and urged him to respect the mandate of people. “The PM is legally, morally and politically obliged to respect this mandate but his is taking instructions from President Zardari ,” the former CM said. He also warned of extreme steps if the PM does not listen to his party.

Earlier, Shahbaz told party workers that projects such as Metro Bus Service, Laptop Distribution Scheme, Ashiana Housing Scheme and Ujala Programme were aimed at making common man the major beneficiary of national resources. He added that scope of these projects would be widened from Punjab to other parts of the country.
