Lahore: Imran Khan continues to recover from the injuries he sustained as a result of his accident last week. The injury to his back has caused no neurologic damage and the strength and mobility of his limbs remains undiminished. His pain has lessened dramatically and he now only needs pain-killers occasionally. He is able to sit up in bed and is receiving regular physiotherapy.
All his stiches have now been removed. He had X-rays of his spine earlier this week and the specialists treating him were very pleased with the results. The alignment of his spine is intact and we fully expect him to make a complete recovery in the next few weeks. The plan is for him to continue bed rest for a total period of two weeks from the day of his accident. Following this he will be required to wear a special support for his back for some weeks but he will be fully mobile with this. It is expected that Imran will, Inshahallah, be discharged from hospital by the middle of next week.
