LDA doubles the compensation amount

Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has doubled the amount of financial assistance to Rs.ten lakh each for the heirs of the employees who lost their lives as a result of fire in LDA Plaza on May 09. One lakh rupees each will be given to three seriously injured persons while Rs.50,000/each to seven persons who got minor injuries.

The children of the deceased employees would be given jobs as per their qualification and special permission would be sought from the provincial government for giving them better jobs, and in this connection, a summary would be submitted to Chief Minister Punjab without any delay. Zafar Khan, security guard of a private security company, would be awarded with five lakh rupees in recognition to his services for rescuing five employees of LDA with the help of a rope.

These decisions were taken in a meeting of governing body of Lahore Development Authority presided over by District Coordination Officer and Chairman LDA, Rizwan Mehboob. The meeting was attended by Director General LDA Dr. Ejaz Munir, Additional Director General (Headquarters) Maryam Kiani, Additional Director General (Housing) Muhammad Osman, MD WASA Dr. Javed Iqbal, Chief Engineer LDA Israr Saeed and representatives of Provincial Housing, Planning & Development, Local Government, Finance and administrators of nine towns of Lahore.
