No voter can carry mobile phone to the polling station :Punjab Government

imageLahore: Punjab government has decided to set up helpdesk on the Election Day at a distance of 400 meters from the polling stations where arrangements will be made for safekeeping of mobile phones of voters.

It may be mentioned that Election Commission of Pakistan has imposed a ban on carrying of mobile phones into the polling stations and the decision to set up helpdesk has been taken to ensure its implementation.

In a circular issued here today, all Divisional Commissioners, District Coordination Officers and District Police Officers have been directed to immediately complete the process of posting of the staff of the concerned district government at the helpdesk to be set up outside the polling stations.

The government officials will issue a token to the owner of mobile phone and will be responsible for its safe custody. It has been further informed that entry of unconcerned persons has been prohibited within 400 meters area around the polling stations.

The people coming to cast their vote will park their private vehicles, motorcycles and bicycles only in the parking area to be earmarked at a distance of 400 meters from the polling stations where traffic police officials will be deputed for their safety.

No vehicle can be parked beside the walls of any polling station. The ban on the parking of vehicles, motorcycles and bicycle within an area of 400 meters around the polling stations will be ensured for the safety of voters.
