Lahore: Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch,a candidate from NA 126, has said that the Election Commission and the Supreme Court had become helpless in implementing the articles 62 and 63 of the constitution and enforcing the highest limit of expenditure fixed by the ECP.
Addressing corner meetings in his constituency on Monday, he said that the PTI and the PML(N) were spending billions on their election campaign through the electronic and print media in clear violation of the ECP’s code of conduct, which was tantamount to hijacking the elections through foreign investment.
Liaqat Baloch said that the five year rule by the PPP and its allies had increased the number of the population below poverty line to 75 per cent. The privileged class ruling the country for the last 65 years had been sucking the blood of the common man.
Therefore, it would be wise for the masses to reject these elements in the coming polls.
While slating PML(N) leaders’ criticism against President Zardari at this stage, Liaqat Baloch pointed out that the PML(N) had cooperated with the President Zardari for five years and was fully responsible for the continuation of Zardari’s dark era.
He said the hollow slogans for securing power and acute polarization won’t bring relief to the masses, and added that only the election of honest, competent and law abiding leadership could put the country on the path of progress and stability.
Liaqat Baloch said that the JI would safeguard the ideological foundations of the country at all costs and struggle for freeing the mother land from the US slavery.
