This time my father wants to do something for the country:Maryam Nawaz

Lahore: PML-N leader and daughter of former prime minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz has said that his father is a wiser man and a more mature leader than the one who governed twice in the 1990s.

“I think those years of struggle, those years of hardship, those years of adversity, they have made a better, stronger and more mature Nawaz Sharif,” said Maryam.

While door to door campaign for his Mian Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz Said “He’s a thinker now. I think there’s no hunger or greed for power. This is the time he wants to do something for the country.”

The case Maryam makes on the streets is that the scale of the crises engulfing Pakistan – battered by militancy and afflicted by crippling power cuts – demands a leader with her father’s experience.

“Mr Sharif won’t be a prime minister who needs to spend two years taking briefings and trying to understand the issues. He’s ready to get to work on the very first day,” said Maryam.
