Punjab sealed its borders to stop entering terrorists

Police on dutyLahore: In order to Counter the Criminal and Terrorist activities, a Segment of GENERAL HOLD UP has been started across the Punjab on the instructions of Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Aftab Sultan which will continue till the holding of General Elections, 2013.

In this regard the first ever and very successful
GENERAL HOLD UP was held last night which was continued till 4 hours in all Regions, Districts and Divisions.

During this hold up police arrested 444 POs and 104 Court Absconders. Similarly, under prohibition ordinance, 163 cases were registered against the violators and 10 Kg and 448 grams Charas and 2270 gram Heroin has been recovered from them. Under Arms Ordinance 220 cases were registered against various persons and 213 illegal weapons have been recovered from them.

During this General Hold Up as many as 2332 Motorcycles were checked by the police among them 1095 illegal and without number plates motorcycles were impounded in various police stations of the province. Whereas, Total 3883 Vehicles have been checked among them 19 suspected and without number plates Motor Vehicles were impounded by the police.

Provincial Police Chief strictly directed the field police officers to hold consecutively surprise general hold up across the province.
