Lahore: Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has
termed the minorities as the beauty of Pakistan and said their role in the stability and progress of the country could not be ignored. He was addressing corner meetings in his constituency along with the JI candidate for the minorities, Mehmud Gill,
Liaqat Baloch said that the JI had always raised voice for the rights of the minorities and inter faith harmony. He said the JI had supported the joint elections in order to create confidence in the minorities.
The JI central leader said that the parties ruling the country during the last five years had added to the problems of the masses and price hike, unemployment, terrorism, lawlessness, poverty and load shedding were their gifts and had made the life of the people miserable.
Addressing the meetings, minority candidate Mehmud Gill said that the JI and Liaqat Baloch had always supported the demands of the minorities. He said the JI was the only party that had extended practical help to the Christian minority in the Badami Bagh tragedy.
