Punjab Police take another step to maintain peace on 11May

Lahore: On the directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab, Aftab Sultan, the training of policemen to be deployed on election duties, is underway. In order to ensure foolproof security and to ward off any possible terror attempt during the elections across the Punjab province, internationally qualified instructors are imparting training to the police officials.

At least 40 Master Trainers including six women are dispatched to all the districts of the province to train 5816 officials including 840 in Lahore, 875 in Rawalpindi, 350 in Faisalabad, 320 in Multan, 125 in DG Khan, 65 in Rajanpur, 96 in Muzaffargarh, 30 in Khushab, 41 in Mianwali, 47 in Bahawalnagar, 73 in Pakpattan, 55 in Jhuelum, 73 in Chakwal, 61 in Lodhran, 124 in Vehari, 88 in Bhakkar, 64 in Layyah, 75 in Sahiwal, 70 in Okara, 77 in Nankana Sahib, 127 in Sheikhupura, 77 in Rahim Yar Khan, 92 in Toba Tek Singh, 115 in Bahawalpur, 106 in Khanewal, 126 in Sargodha, 128 in Jhang, 128 in Chiniot, 154 in Attock, 386 in Kasur, 295 in Gujranwala, 64 in Hafizabad, 240 in Gujrat, 76 in Mandi Bahauddin, 91 in Sialkot, and 62 in Narowal.

As many as 30 officials including 10 per cent women officials would be trained in each training session. The trainers would also impart effective and actionable training to the upper subordinates under the supervision of the DPOs concerned. Only the trained upper subordinates would be deployed around the polling stations to maintain peace. The training will continue from 9:00 am to 03:00 pm in different sessions.

Meanwhile, the DSPs in all the districts are directed to get training in the Phase-I so that they could be able to train the other upper subordinates.
