Wheat procurement arrangements are completed: Deputy Director Food Lahore

Lahore: All arrangements regarding wheat procurement scheme 2013-14 have been completed. Target of wheat procurement for Lahore Division has been fixed 353500 metric ton for which distribution of bardana (gunny bags) on first come first serve basis is being started from April 25, 2013 and bardana has been supplied to procurement centres.

This was disclosed by Deputy Director Food Lahore Division Malik Muhammad Hussain Khokhar while presiding over a special meeting for reviewing the arrangements made for wheat procurement scheme 2013-14 here today.

In-charges of 41 procurement centres set up in Lahore Division were also present on this occasion. The meeting decided that farmer-friendly policy would be strictly implemented during wheat procurement scheme and the complaint, if any, would be redressed immediately. He said that a toll free number 0800-13512 has been installed at provincial and divisional level for the convenience of farmers and in case of complaint, farmers can contact on this number.

Malik Muhammad Hussain Khokar vowed that under the special instructions of Punjab Government, interest of small farmers would be protected at every cost during wheat procurement campaign and they will be provided all possible facilities at procurement centres.
