Lahore: PML-N President Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday called for the implementation of the Supreme Court’s order for giving voting rights to overseas Pakistanis.
“Overseas Pakistanis, who send billions of dollars in remittances each year, are our major asset,” the former PM told a delegation of overseas Pakistanis. He said that after coming to power, the PML-N government would promote business-friendly policies and provide safe environment for investment by overseas Pakistanis.
Nawaz said that those overseas Pakistanis who want to invest in industrial zones in their homeland would be given relaxation in various taxes and duties. He assured the delegation that property of overseas Pakistani would be protected from ‘Qabza’ groups. He also pledged steps to bring overseas Pakistanis into the country’s economic mainstream.
