Lahore: The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting
Friday made major reshuffle in the Ministry and organizations,
working under its administrative control to improve their performance
particularly in view of upcoming general elections.
The administrative changes have been made on the directives of Minister for Information and Broadcasting Arif Nizami as per his vision to improve the working and efficiency of these organizations.
In this regard, the changes have been made in Pakistan Television
(PTV), Pakistan Electronic Media Regularity Authority (PEMRA) while some changes are in process in Pakistan Broadcasting Cooperation (PBC).The objective of these administrative changes is to improve the delivery of services, enabling these organizations to play a more effective role in the changed political situation particularly during the forthcoming general elections to be held on May 11 this year.
According to the notification, four BS-19 officers of the Information group have been sent to Pakistan Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) Islamabad on deputation for three years.
As per order, Sikandar Ali, Director Press Information Department (PID) has been posted as Regional Manager PEMRA Karachi. Abid
Saeed, Director PID has been posted as Regional Manager PEMRA Lahore. Ashfaq Ahmed Khalil, Director, Directorate of Electronic Media and Publication has been posted as Regional Manager PEMRA Peshawar. Samina Farzin, Director, Directorate of Electronic Media and Publication Islamabad has been posted as Regional Manager PEMRA Islamabad.
Nine officers working in Pakistan Television have also been reshuffled.Among these officers include Agha Masood Shorish, Director
International Relations, PTV Islamabad who has been posted as Director Current Affairs.Asad Ahmad Jaspal Director Administration and Personnel, PTV has been given the slot of Director PTV Academy/Director Sports . He has replaced Asad Ullah Khan who has now been made Director International Relations.Syed Shakir Uzair, Director Programmes has been posted as Director Marketing. Khalil Asif, Director Engineering (Operation and Maintenance) will also look after the office of Director Engineering Projects.
Qamar Iqbal, Controller, Administration and Personnel, has been
appointed Acting Director Administration and Personnel. Sajjad Ahmed,
Controller Programmes Administration, has now been given the office of Acting Director Programmes.Ghulam Mohsin Goraya, Acting Director, Current Affairs and Mohammad Ashraf Malkham, Chief Editor News, have been posted at Headquarters for assignment to be given by the Managing Director.
All the officers have been directed to assume their respective
assignments with immediate effect.
