Caretaker cabinet meets for provincial budget

CM PUNJAB (2)Lahore: A meeting of provincial caretaker cabinet was held at Chief Minister’s Secretariat here today, under, the chairmanship of Punjab Chief Minister Najam Sethi, which was attended by Provincial Home Minister Tariq Pervaiz, Provincial Law Minister Shams Mehmood Mirza, Provincial Health Minister Salima Hashmi, Provincial Minister for Energy and Transport Arif Ijaz, Minister for Agriculture and Food Qaiser Zulfiqar Ali Khan, Minister for Human Rights and Minorities Affairs Jamshed Rehmat Ullah, Chief Secretary Punjab Javed Iqbal, Secretary Finance Tariq Bajwa, Secretary Law Abu-al-Hassan Najmi, Secretary Information Amjad Hussain and secretaries of other departments as well as concerned officers.

During the meeting, caretaker Punjab cabinet was given detailed briefing on guidelines for budget 2013-14, along with apprising it of the strong financial position of the province. The caretaker Punjab cabinet expressed satisfaction over the robust financial position of the province, and reviewed budget guidelines in detail.

Addressing the caretaker Punjab cabinet, Punjab Chief Minister Najam Sethi said that the provincial caretaker government is reviewing the outlines of the budget 2013-14, for the next fiscal year, in the light of which the coming budget would be prepared. He said all resources are the trust of the nation, which will only be spent upon the progress, prosperity and wellbeing of the people. He stressed that the development work on ongoing projects would continue. Secretary Finance Punjab Tariq Bajwa apprised the cabinet about outlines of the next fiscal year’s budget and financial position of the province.
