Sanitary stores owners ensure cleanliness:Aslam Kamboh

Lahore: Chairman Samanabad Town Emergency Response Committee on Dengue and Provincial Secretary Schools Muhammad Aslam Kamboh has urged the owners of sanitary stores located at Ferozepur Road to ensure cleanliness, otherwise strict action would be initiated against them under the Dengue Control Act.

He stated this while presiding over an important meeting about dengue eradication in his office at Samanabad Town, here today in which town officers as well as all officers of concerned departments were present. Provincial Secretary Muhammad Aslam Kamboh said that under construction buildings are conducive places for breeding of dengue mosquito, therefore its owners should be compelled not to store water for more than one day. He exhorted solid waste management officers to ensure cleanliness of all drains and open plots of the town and present a detailed report in the next meeting.

In his report, Town Municipal Officer Imtiaz Awan informed that 27 junkyards have been checked by dengue control team in the town, and notices have been issued to them about unsatisfactory arrangements of sanitation. In his report, entomologists informed that dengue larvae has been detected at Bund Road, Ashiqabad, Pakki Thatti and water tanks of residential areas of T-V. Provincial Secretary Muhammad Aslam Kamboh appealed to the people to ensure cleanliness of water tanks in residential areas.

Provincial Secretary Muhammad Aslam Kamboh directed anti-dengue teams to again visit roofs of government and private educational institutions, along with tyre shops take strict legal action against those who are not implementing directions of the government regarding adopting preventive measures. He called upon the officers of the concerned departments to utilize all their energies to ensure success of the anti-dengue campaign.
