Lahore: Provincial Minister for Minorities Affairs and Human Rights, Jamshed Rehmat Ullah has said that despite a short period the caretaker government will complete the task assigned to it.
He was addressing a reception held in his honor at Saint Peters School/Church Waris Road by Bishop Robert Semuel Azariah and Executive Committee Diocese of Raiwind, Church of Pakistan. Pastor Naseem Fiaz, Peter Azariah, Pastor Akmal Rana, Qadir Buksh, Mrs. Shaukat, Mrs. Dr. Khushnood Azariah, Principal Rena Shakir, Mrs. Qadir Bukhs, Mrs. Kamran, Mr. Wasbi, General Secretary, National Council of Churches Victor Azariah were also present on the occasion.
The Minister said that representation of minorities is a great honor for him and he will come up to their expectations. He said that we will have to work for the welfare of the people and dedicate every moment for positive and constructive activities. He thanked the organizers for holding the function and prayed for the progress and prosperity of the country. Bishop Robert Azariah and others also addressed on the occasion and congratulated the minister on assuming his office.
Moreover, Khateeb Badshahi Masjid Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad called on Jamshed Rehmat Ullah in his office and discussed matters regarding promotion of religious harmony, tolerance and brotherhood. The Minister said that promotion of religious harmony is the need of the hour and we will have to work for peace and stability of the country. He said that all religions of the world give a lesson of welfare of humanity and brotherhood.
