Lahore: Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute and Amir-ud-Din Medical College, Prof. Ajnum Habib Vohra has stressed upon the young doctors to keep an eye on the latest research and new trends in the field of neurosurgery to update their knowledge and serve the ailing humanity in a more efficient manner.
He was addressing the inaugural session of a 3-day Neurosurgery Review Course at Lahore General Hospital Under training FCPS and MS doctors from all over the country are participating in the course.
On the occasion of first day session, Prof. Tariq Salah-ud-Din, Prof. Rashid Juma, Prof. Khalid Mehmood, Prof. Rizwan Masood Butt and Prof. Muhammad Nasrullah gave lectures and videos of neurosurgery operations were shown to the participants. Prof. Anjum Habib Vohra said that the course will provide opportunity to young doctors to learn a lot from the experts and their seniors in this field.
He further said that neurosurgery is one of the most sensitive operations and requires high skill and a wide experience. He said that the number of neurosurgeons in Pakistan is much lower than the patients. He said that courses, seminars and training workshops provide an opportunity to promote professionalism and confidence in young doctors. He said that importance of neurosurgery has increased many fold due to increasing road accidents and other calamities. He said that there is a need to provide opportunities to doctors for professional training to sharpen their skills.
