Judicial Officers are frontline judges in the judicial setup: Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah

Lahore: Mr. Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah of Lahore High Court has said that Judicial Officers are frontline judges in the judicial setup and they are agents of change.

Hon’ble Judge was addressing a concluding ceremony of Capacity Building Training Course designed for Judicial Magistrates at Punjab Judicial Academy. Registrar Sardar Ahmad Naeem and officers of LHC also attended the ceremony.

Hon’ble judge said that District Judiciary enjoys pivotal role and it is need of hour to channelize resources for the training and capacity building of judges. There are different avenues for training of civil servants and similar opportunities will be made available for judicial officers.

LHC is introducing fresh ideas for enhancing the decision making skills of the members of the judiciary. He asked the judges to promote their reading habits and have hands on Information Technology for improving the quality and quantity of judgments. Hon’ble Judge pointed out that 98% litigation of the country is in the Province of Punjab. The case ratio per judge in the Punjab is very high as compared to other provinces. We need 60 to 70% new judges to cope with the situation.

Justice Mansoor appreciated the role of Punjab Judicial Academy and vowed it to raise its status to a university where faculty members from the leading universities like LUMS will be engaged to deliver lectures for the proper guidance and training of judicial officers. Functioning of judiciary owes to the litigant public. We have to strive hard for providing relief to the aggrieved persons and focus maximum attention for the welfare of the litigant – the main stakeholder of the system of justice.

Director General Punjab Judicial Academy, Mr. Justice (R) Syed Jamshed Ali and course representative Mr. Muhammad Aamir Raza also spoke on the occasion.

Justice Mansoor Ali Shah gave away certificates to participants of the course who include Judicial Magistrates, Shazia Kausar, Nabial Aamir, Naila Zafar, Ali Akbar, Saif Ullah, Rao Ijaz Ahmad, Afzal Ahmad Hunjra, Muhammad Shahid Zia, Naveed Hussain, Tahir Mehmood Ansar, Abu Bakar Naveed, Muhammad Zulqarnain, Muhammad Umar Khan Fareedy, Syed Ahson Manzoor, Azhar Javed, Javed Iqbal, Muhammad Yasir Rana, Tariq Mehmood, Muhammad Yousaf, Azhar Mahmood, Ejaz Ahmad, Muzaffar Hussain, Muhammad Muneeb Saqib and Muhammad Amir Raza.
