Salima Hashmi visits office of Population Welfare Department

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Population Welfare Salima Hashmi has said that increasing population has become a global issue and solid steps are needed to overcome this problem.

She said this during her visit to the office of Population Welfare Department at Garden Town today. Provincial Secretary Altaf Aizad Khan, Director General Population Welfare Saleem Qaisar, Additional Secretary Naeem Rathore and other officers were also present on the occasion.

Secretary Population Welfare gave a detail briefing to the Provincial Minister about the steps taken for the population welfare and the departmental affairs.

Salima Hashmi stressed the need for creating awareness about the problems arising due to the increasing population and a vigorous campaign should be launched at every level in this regard. She said that NGOs, ulema, teachers and civil society can play an important role in this awareness campaign.
