Lahore: The Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) has managed 529 Road Traffic Accidents (RTAs) in all Districts of the Punjab in last 24 hours, in which 05 precious lives were lost and 455 victims were seriously injured whereas 213 minor injured were provided first aid at the accidents’ site by rescue officials across the Province.
These 529 road traffic crashes affected 111 pedestrians; 321 passengers and 241drivers. Total 144 RTAs took place in Lahore with 172 victims placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 51 in Faisalabad with 54 victims and Multan remained at third position with 35 RTAs and 40 victims.
According to the data of Provincial Monitoring Cell of the Rescue 1122, out of total 673 RTA’s victims, 548 were males and 125 females, while age group of the victims show that 116 were under 18 year of age, 413 were between 18 and 40 year and rest of the 144 victims were reported above 40 years. The vehicles involved in traffic accidents included 400 motorbikes, 49 auto rickshaws, 57motor cars, 15 van, 07 passenger buses, 15 trucks, 58 other types of auto vehicles and slow moving vehicles.
