Lahore: The Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) alone has managed 385 Road Traffic Accidents (RTAs) in all Districts of the Punjab in last 24 hours, in which 06 precious lives were lost and 480 victims were seriously injured whereas 331 minor injured were provided first aid at the accidents’ site by rescue officials across the Province.
These 385 road traffic crashes affected 70 pedestrians; 268 passengers and 142 drivers. Some 129 RTAs took place in Lahore with 149 victims placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 47 in Faisalabad with 49, 30 in Gujranwala with 33, victims and 26 in Rawalpindi with 25 victims.
According to the data of Provincial Monitoring Cell of the Rescue 1122, out of total 385 RTA’s victims, 319 were males and 99 females, while age group of the victims show that 71 were under 18 year of age, 319 were between 18 and 40 year and rest of the 70 victims were reported above 40 years.
The vehicles involved in traffic accidents included 327 motorbikes, 29 auto rickshaws, 40 motor cars, 06 passenger buses, 13 van, 06 trucks, 66 other types of auto vehicles and slow moving vehicles.
